Textbook Sauvignon Blanc Russian River Valley 2023 750 ML
$59.99
“This mouthwatering Sauvignon Blanc was crafted from two separate lots harvested from Blake’s Launch, a superb vineyard in the Russian River Valley, each contributing distinct aromas and flavors. Aromatics begin with delicate honeydew, pear, and refreshing lime zest leading to a laser beam of Meyer lemon, lime curd, jasmine, and lovely minerality. This wine finishes bright and balanced, with a crisp texture.” – Abigail Estrada, Winemaker FOOD PAIRING – Enjoy with salty-citrus flavors, salads with a tangy vinaigrette, citrus-marinated chicken, shellfish, and spicy food. WINEMAKING NOTES – Hand-picked clusters were field-sorted into half-ton bins on September 21 & 25 at 22.2° Brix. After destemming, the fruit went directly to press for a gentle whole cluster press. Fermented in stainless steel or bright profile, with a small portion barrel fermented in neutral French oak for added complexity. Frequent batonnage or “stirring of the lees” achieved beautiful texture. 2023 VINTAGE SOURCING – Blake’s Launch Vineyard – Nestled adjacent to the meandering Russian River, the vineyard’s soils benefit from its closeness to the riverbank. Its Yolo soils are deep and well-drained, formed in alluvium from mixed rocks. The vines struggle in these demanding soil conditions and produce grapes with concentration and balance.
