The 2020 Barolo is a blend of fruit from sources in Castiglione Falletto, Barolo, Serralunga and Monforte. It’s a gorgeous, complex wine redolent of cedar, pipe tobacco, dried herbs, menthol and earthy undertones. The 2020 is deep, expressive and quite open, especially in its aromatics. It’s a classy, elegant Barolo through and through. “I am going to be sixty next year. I am not making wines that need to be cellared for a long time before being ready,” proprietor Alan Manley told me.
