This wine is a blend of estate-grown fruit and a handful of old vine sites from around the region. This wine is bottled every August before harvest to make room for the new vintage. If you have seen our , you know how tiny it is! While I enjoy expressing terroir via vineyard-designated wines, there is something about the art of the blend that makes for a truly unique and complete wine. For example, I may bump up the Banfield percentage if the wine needs more natural acidity. If it needs some weight on the mid-palate, it gets some Maffei. If it needs a little more structure, I reach for some Limerick estate wine to add to the blend. The resulting wine is intentional, balanced, and nuanced and encapsulates what I believe to be the essence of Russian River Valley Zinfandel.59 barrels produced.
