A winery founded in 1520 and still working today is already a story worth telling. But if we add that its wines were tasted and praised by the clergy, aristocracy and politicians of the time, then its no longer just a story but rather a veritable part of history.

Formentini has been synonymous with quality for 500 years and can boast of being one of the wineries that has most left its mark on the wine-producing history of the Collio region, thanks to its ability to interpret and understand the value of the climatic and environmental factors and human characteristics typical of the area.

Having a deep knowledge of the terroir and working with the same partner-producers over generations have meant that the winery is able to capture exactly the particular qualities of each micro-zone and to enjoy a consistent quality of grapes resulting in complex but elegant wines.
