The Miller family traces their roots in California to the 1870s, but what put them on the map was their 1973 acquisition of what would be the French Camp vineyard — 1400 acres in Paso Robles extremely simpatico with grape growing. The second largest organic vineyard in the state, it’s responsible for any number of highly rated Zinfandels and Chardonnays, as well as smaller plots of Cabernet, Grenache and others. Spring is unpredictable, so dig this classic, refreshing version with mac’n’cheese and spring peas, or a poke bowl.
