The greatness of this vintage is embodied by its amazing harmony. Perfect aromatic purity together with notes of black fruit give great charm to the wine. The note gives way to elegant tension with refined, velvety tannins. The alcohol and the oak are perfectly integrated. The finish is lingering, underpinned by the elegance of the fruit, and accompanied by delicate spicy tones. Located next to Troplong Mondot and Pavie, Pavie Macquin is planted to 70% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon with an average age of vines of about 40 years. It is one of our house favorites for style and concentration and is biodynamically farmed. Pavie Macquin produces brilliant, supple, age worthy wines in Saint Emilion.
