The Estate line are the first wines released by the Taylor family when they established their winery in 1969 and Cabernet Sauvnignon was the first grape they planted. The first vintage, Estate Cabernet Sauvignon 1973, received enourmous critical success. Aromas of rich blackcurrant, subtle spice, tomato leaf and a touch of eucalyptus, along with oak influence of cedar and dark chocolate This is well-balanced, complex wine that makes a great partner to simply grilled steaks, roast chicken and lamb kabobs. Great intensity. It has distinctive blackcurrant and cassis fruit flavors. Subtle oak characters of cedar cigar box and spice are also evident. Fermentation was carried out in the winery’s original ‘Potter’ fermenters, allowing for gentle color and tannin extraction. Aged 12 months in French oak.
