Terroir: The strength of the Bordeaux wine region is the great diversity of its soil. The mild climate, abundant sunshine and the nearby ocean and waterways combine to make Bordeaux a giant among wine regions.
Vinification and Aging: Initial fermentation, in concrete or steel vats kept at a constant temperature of 28ºC, is followed by a 20-day maceration. The must is pumped over, then racked and returned to extract color and tannin before a series of tastings to decide the perfect time to rack the wine. Finally, the wine is aged for 6 months in oak vats and barrels.
